The Emergency Congress adopted guiding principles and recommendations which were compiled into the Ubuntu Declaration for a Just and Sustainable World Economy. At his reqeust, the Ubuntu Declaration was sent to the Prime Minister, several UK Government departments, and to other member governments of the G20 to be used in preparation for the London Summit of 2 April, hosted by the Prime Minister.

Rights and Humanity also presented the Ubuntu Declaration to the UN Commission of Experts of the President of the UN General Assembly on Reforms of the International Monetary and Financial System, chaired by Professor Joseph Stiglitz, which made its recommendations on 19 March 2009.
